This small stoneware weight looks and feels like a rock, but it's perfect to use as a small weight when making slaw or kimchi or other yummy fermented things in mason style jars. The hole is the middle makes it easy to fish out when your ferment is finished.

The listing is for 1 weight, some photos show multiple weights for scale. Choose from the following variations:

Small: 2 inches wide and fits a narrow or small mouth jar

Medium: 2 1/2 inches wide and fits a wide mouth jar

Handmade from stoneware the surface is smooth and dense, like a river rock. As each are handmade please allow for some variation. The color is shades of tan, though please expect some variation due to kiln firing and clay mix.

A jar of fermented bell peppers shows how the weights work - they are just heavy enough to hold down the veggies under the brine. The next photo is of the weights next to each other for scale.
