Slip-casting is the process of pouring liquid clay into a plaster mold in order to create a ceramic form. It can be used to create functional items like mugs and bowls as well as simple to complex sculptural forms. In this class, participants will learn how to make a one-part and a two-part plaster mold. We will then learn how to slip-cast ceramic forms from the molds that we create. 6-week class. Open to beginners to professionals. Clay slip, plaster, and firings are included with the tuition. Additional clay $15 to $20 per bag. Class does not meet July 9th.
Taught by Sam, this class will meet in the Ceramics Studio at the Art Association. Due to COVID-19 class sizes have been reduced to 6 and other protective measures are being put into place. Please contact the Art Association for more details: 307-733-6379
