Sometimes referred to as “art” welding, oxyacetylene welding is one of the most versatile welding systems that, properly set up, can weld most metals together through brazing and welding. With the addition of a cutting torch, steel can be “sawed” through with the flame. This class will train students to control the torch in order to make beautiful welds. Students will practice their skills by creating a 3 dimensional sculpture out of welding rod that will be either a geometric or animal form. Students will also learn about flame and gas safety, about how to set up the welder and how to go about setting up their own system at home.
All supplies included. Class size limited to 5.
Taught by Sam, this class meets for 4 weeks in the Multi-Purpose studio
